live.pirillo.com – geeks.pirillo.com – Eric Lin, a longtime fixture in the San Francisco tech scene has recently made his home in Seattle to work with HTC. Long before he found a way to turn his lust for technology into a job, he worked in bike shops and outdoor outfitters. This really was just an excuse to play with more affordable gadgets, and get paid to spend time outdoors. Now, Eric is more likely to be found riding one of his many bikes through the city streets rather than mountain trails. He has also shifted his athletic interests to less gadgety sports like kickboxing, crossfit and urban mischief.

When you come to The New River Gorge in West Virginia, you can definitely expect some adventure. The gorge is home to some of the best mountain biking trails in the world. We’re pretty confident that it’s about the most fun you can have on two wheels. While riding bikes on off-road trails isn’t exactly new, there’s still plenty of room for beginners and novices to get involved. And one of the best ways to do that is to go ahead and get your hands dirty by helping to build some trail. That’s exactly what some local Scouts in Fayetteville, West Virginia did on a beautiful fall weekend in late 2010. When you stop and think about all of the Scouts that will be coming to the area for the 2013 Jamboree and beyond, you’re struck by one seriously large realization: we’re going to need some more trails. But you can’t just go out and cut trail. You need some experience. Ordinarily, a good trail test is to see if you can walk the newly minted trail with your hands in your pockets. And you’ll also want to make sure that your trail is serving the needs of the land itself. In this case, we had a representative from the New River Gorge National River Area helping us out. When it comes to building trails, you don’t get much better than having the opportunity to work with the National Park Service. speed cross mountain bike in litochoro

Short cross or speed cross (SC) is the newest form of mountain biking. The idea is to ride short, narrow forest paths with rocks and roots, but not necessarily any ramps on them. The optimal length of the paths are from a few tens to hundreds of meters. The shortness is to provide extreme speed and thrill to get through the hindrances as fast as possible without crashing. The altitude of each path does not have to vary much. The ultimate direction of each path from vertical aspect can be either up or down. The transitions between these essential parts are to be taken lightly and stopping at the beginning of every path is to provide maximum amount of thrilling action gained through the speed. The best fitting bicycle for SC is probably lightweight, but long travel full suspension bike.
