I’m looking to buy a brand new mountain bike.
I would use it for alot of on road biking but also I would go off road sometimes to ride off road.
What type of bike would I be needing to suit my needs.
Yes this is the second time I have posted this question up but last time I did not get the answers I wanted lets hope we can get better this time, thx everyone.
1) What percent is on road and off road?
75% Road 25% Off road
2) Whats your price range? Upto £700
3) What type of road and off road riding are you planing to do?
I would be doing alot of road all over the place and some off road stuff
4) Do you plan to race or just for everyday riding?
Every day riding

It seems like there’s a lot of disparity from one brand’s shoe to the next, whether the shoes are made for road biking or mountain biking. Some mountain biking shoes seem more comfortable for everyday use or for walking. What’s the downside in getting mountain biking shoes for a road bike?

I’m looking at getting into mountain biking, and will try out my hand at a few beginner level mountain/off road trails. What be a decent bike for a beginner?
I’m not looking for anything to expensive or high tech (eg. carbon frame etc might be unnecessary). Just something good enough for some beginner level off road biking.

I just got into road biking last year, and I love it! I’m expanding my horizons and am going to attempt mountain biking on some MTB trails (with a mountain bike of course). I know that MTB isn’t much like road biking, so any suggestions for a new beginner on how to best handle the hills and trails? Thank you in advance!

I would like to give off-road biking a try. I already have a women’s Schwinn Aluminum Comp/Trail Tuned bike that I paid a little over 0.00 for (BTW, I am a woman so this would be an appropriate bike in that regard). I realize that this is on the very cheap side for mountain bikes, but I wanted to know if this bike would suffice if I am just riding on beginner/intermediate trails. I really don’t want to splurge on an expensive bike until I know that I am going to continue with the sport. With that said, if this bike would be completely inappropriate for a beginner (i.e., it would be unsafe), I would like to know.
Thanks in advance for your feedback!
