well since your going for around 1,000 to 2,000 i think the GT DHi is out of the question so i personally think if your not planning on going pro any time soon but still want to go big the ironhorse yakuza kumicho is a good choice because as wierd as it seems i have one and i LOVE IT because i can hit trails full speed and keep controll also i can hit rock beds and keep controll and also i can go off any drop up to 35 feet without a problem (if the landing is smooth) and the bike goes fast and also if you want to hit up dirtjumps just change your front fork to tighter and same with the back shock and your good to go all day but if your looking for something a little more harder like abuse the hell out of bike then i dont know sorry (but the yakuza has been abused HARD and it still works GREAT =])
